Growth progression of my baby budgies
Growth progression of my baby lovebird
Lovebirds lay clutches of four to six eggs, usually laying eggs every second day until they have laid a
full clutch.
Four eggs were laid by the mother bird.
Four eggs were incubated by the mother bird for 20 to 24 days
Among four eggs one was infertile and 3 chicks were successfully hatched
Some chicks will be ready to leave the nest in six weeks although the majority take about seven or eight weeks to fledge. Youngsters will return to the nest box at night, sharing it with their parents for a further two weeks. During this time they will continue to to be fed mainly by the cock. As soon as they are feeding independantly they should be moved to another cage as the parents will want to breed again and are likely to attack their offspring.
